Mother's Day Madness

Picture the scene: early morning in a busy Richmond, Va. restaurant kitchen as the staff begins preparations for a Mother’s Day brunch when they discover their dishwasher is not working. With 300 reservations already confirmed for the Mother’s Day brunch, a potentially disastrous situation looms. To make matters worse, it is early Saturday morning. In search of help, they call Dutton Equipment Repair.

Responding to their call, our trained professionals arrived at 8:00 AM to begin solving the problem. That the dishwasher wasn’t working was obvious. Why it wasn’t working was not. After diligently pursuing several possible causes, it was determined the customer had lost incoming power on one phase of their 3-phase power service.

While many contractors would have told the customer the required repair was beyond their capability and to contact the power company, our technicians immediately went to work to devise a solution.

Before the restaurant’s scheduled opening, our technicians had secured a 3-phase, 100 KW generator, placed it on-site, and had completed the power connection to the existing service panel. With limited service restored, the restaurant was able to open. Although the menu was short and the owner had to help wash dishes by hand, they were able to salvage over half the reservations that were booked, avoiding a complete disaster.

Going above and beyond the call is what defines true customer service, and providing unparalleled customer service defines Dutton Equipment Repair. Using innovation and creativity, we will work to keep your business open by any means necessary.
